Google Station Launched In Computer Village
Tech giant, Google, in collaboration with Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria, CAPDAN, has launched Google Station in Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos.
With the launched of the Google Station, customers and business owners within the largest ICT market in Africa can have access to free Wi-Fi and unlimited downloads in and around the market.
At the follow up event of the official launch of Google Station on Thursday September 20, 2108, held at the beautifully decorated CAPDAN Secretariat, Google represented by Mr. Saidu Abdullahi, Country Manager (Google Station) said that they were happy to collaborate with the Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria, CAPDAN, on the launch of the Google Station. He explained that their choice of Computer Village was strategic as the largest ICT market in Africa and a key player in the technology value chain. He hinted that it ensures easy access to SMEs, good potential user impact and headroom to grow.
In his speech, the President of the Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria, CAPDAN, Comrade Adeniyi Ojikutu, thanked Google for the collaboration. He said that the Google Station certainly will add value to businesses in and around Computer Village. Ojikutu said the free Wi-Fi access will also reduce the cost of doing business in the market and equally provide universal opportunities to business owners.
“It is with great pleasure and high sense of service to our esteemed stakeholders in Computer Village, that we launched the free Google Station. This is a public free Wi-Fi with unlimited downloads and connectivity for everyone in and around the ICT market. The focus is to boast members’ businesses and also attract more customers/traffic to Computer Village to engender business growth. We thank the tech giant, Google, for the collaboration” Comrade Ojikutu said.
