During interrogation, the police discovered what led to the fight and then transferred the matter to the Gender Section of the State Command, Lagos.

He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Benson Emuerhi, asked the court to use its discretion on the issue of bail to enable the defendant appear in court for trial in the interest of justice.
The court deferred his bail and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody pending when the issue of bail will be determined.
The matter was adjourned till 11th November 2018.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter may be referred to DPP for advice and if Igwe is found culpable, he will be charged for rape and tried. And if found guilty, he may spend some years in prison for the offence.
