The President of a non-governmental organization known as Nation Builders CM Network , Mr. Jaiyeola Joseph, has urged Nigerian to resist poverty by exploiting the opportunities provided to eradicate poverty in the world by the United Nations.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Mr. Joseph stated this at Agege stadium in Lagos to mark The United Nations International Day of Poverty Eradication 2018.

Hundreds of members attended the event where Joseph recalled that the UN resolution 47/196 of 22 Nov. 1992, had declared 17th of October as the International day for the eradication of poverty.
He said this year marked the 31st anniversary of the call to action by Rev. Father Joseph Rellsukri.
“This was introduced to totally say goodbye to poverty in the world and several opportunities were created to empower the poor people”

Joseph further elaborated on the aims and objectives of the Nation Builders CM Network which he said were targeted to improve the standard living of the poor in the society. He said that the crowd had gathered in attendance for the yearly world day poverty alleviation from all states in the country because many of them have benefited through the NGO.
P.M.EXPRESS observed the presence of executives of the NGO from different states as the National Director of the Nation Builders CM Network, Mr. A. Olarenwaju, confirmed the scheme to be real and that many people have benefitted from it in the past and were still benefitting.
He said that Nigeria kept recording one of the highest numbers of poor persons in the world because the people have not exploited the opportunities created to create wealth. He said that out of the $800,000,000 released for this scheme, Nigerians have a reason to get the highest share and be mobilized for social change when properly registered with the NGO.

One Mrs. Lydia, a beneficiary of the NGO, a state director of the Lagos State Forum, also told the press how she has eradicated poverty in her life and so many others as an employer and advised women not to wait for white collar jobs before they can do something for themselves. She said that as a graduate, she is not practicing her profession but today she is an employer through the NGO. She further stated that people should learn how to empower themselves in what they know how to do best.
