I Didn’t Ask Wale Oluwo To Resign & Defect – Chief Seriki

Posted on December 10, 2018

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Chief Akanni Seriki, popularly known as Baba Bamu, has debunked the malicious and fallacious information that had pervaded the social media in past few days, that he compelled Mr. Wale Oluwo, the former Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources to resign his appointment and defect to opposition party, PDP.
Baba Bamu in his reaction refuted the allegations levelled against him and reiterated that he reluctantly nominated Mr. Wale Oluwo as a member of Lagos State cabinet after several persuasions by some big party stalwarts in Epe. It will be recalled that Mr. Wale Oluwo was the running mate of Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi during 2007 governorship election under ANPP in the State.
“For the past two years now, Mr. Wale Oluwo has been playing hide and seek politic in Epe and this has made the party loyalists to lose confidence in him.
Epe division has never at anytime been under the control of PDP, it was only in Ibeju Lekki Local Government sometime ago when there was rancour within the party leadership which led to the opposition party winnng some of the political seats in the area” he said.
Another strong allegation against Baba Bamu was that he influenced the defection of Chief Lanre Rasak known as KLM from PDP to the then ACN and now APC.  He said that it was the handiworks of a certain disgruntled politician in Epe, who claimed that Chief Akanni Seriki was a dictator and the only way to weaken his strength was by bringing KLM to the ruling party with the connivance of a Chieftain in Lagos East Senatorial district.
“Unknown to most members of the party, this ungrateful politician has benefited immensely from Baba Bamu’s so called dictatorship than any other members. The emergence of Senator Anthony Adefuye as the new Lagos East Senatorial Leader caucus was an unanimous decision by the party leadership and loyalists, and that cannot anyway undermine Baba Bamu’s authority in his domain” he said.
To the glory of God, Chief Akanni Seriki is hale and healthy and has never been diagnosed of any ailments. He is a patriot, an astute politician and has assisted many politicians to actualise their dreams. He unilaterally influenced the party leadership at the State level in the zoning of speakership post to Epe between 2003-2011 and he was also the main agitator for the Governorship slot for the area in 2015.
Baba Bamu posited that it was disheartening and inimical for some people to adjudge that he is always at loggerheads with Governor Ambode. He explained that there exists a cordial relationship between them and it has always been father and son matter.
Chief Seriki said that he has never and will never at anytime betray his beloved party as he was a founding father of AD, AC, ACN and now APC and has never been 5involved in any anti party activities unlike some political prostitutes that always lobbied for contracts and recognition.
