Oshoala Football Tourney: Eight Teams Ready For Draws Ceremony At Mushin

Eight teams are ready for the draws ceremony of the fourth edition of Asisat Oshoala Grassroots Women Championship which is scheduled to hold on Friday at St Judes Primary School, Ilasamaja,Mushin,Lagos.
The tournament, which is sponsored by a member of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, striker Asisat Oshoala will feature eight female teams across Lagos State. Among the teams that will feature in the draws ceremony are are Owo- Igbe Queens, Aseyori Queens, Adex Queens, Lacamura Queens, Phonix Queens, Victory Queens, Lakeside Queens and Epe Ladies.
Chairman Organizing Committee, Emmanuel Osahon confirmed that all the participating teams are looking forward to exciting draws ceremony. He said some players among the clubs have been preparing for the tournament which comes once in every at Mushin.
“All the teams are waiting for the draws ceremony and it is going to be an exciting draws for all the participating teams because all the participants are well known in Lagos as far as female football is concerned,” he said.
The former goalkeeper of First Bank said Mushin will witness glamorous and exciting female tournament as from Monday, 24 December, 2018 at St Jude Primary School,Ilasamaja and urged the football fans to come out in large numbers to cheer the ladies.
“It is going to be an exciting championship among the eight female teams in Lagos. We have selected the teams based on their football pedigree in Lagos and the cup donor, Oshoala is committed to promote female football at the grassroots level in Lagos. It is going to be a tough competition because all the teams stand the chance to reach the final stage,” he said.
Osahon explained that Oshoala is sponsoring the competition as a way of her contribution to the female football development in Lagos and urged the other Super Falcons players to emulate Oshoala’s initiative.
“We should not forget in hurry that Oshoala started her football career in Mushin and she told me that she wants to sponsor female tournament in Mushin as a way of giving back to the society. Oshoala has done well in promoting female football in Mushin in the last three years and I will love other players who are well to do to follow suit so that our female footballers would be busy during the yuletide period.,” he said.
