IYC Congratulates Prof Nelson Brambaifa, Lauds FG For The Giant Stride

The National Executive Council of the IYC wishes to congratulate Prof. Nelson Branbaiyefa on his recent appointment as the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), we wish him very productive years at the helms of affairs of the Commission.
The public should recall that about a year ago, the IYC mobilised a mammoth crowd of our virile youth from across the Niger Delta for a peaceful demonstration asking the Federal government to terminate the illegal elongation of the tenure of the former board as headed by HE Nsima Ekere (who has now resigned to pursue his gubernatorial ambitions, and Ijaw people wish him well in his ambition),
The IYC congratulates itself for being at the forefront of the struggle for what is rightly ours. The public cannot forget the dogged fighting spirit of every member of the Council, more especially the determined inputs of the Mr. President, Barr.Oweilaemi Pereotubo and the Council’s Legal Adviser, Barr. Igbeta Ayebakuro, who took it upon themselves to practically see that Ijaw people are given what rightly belongs to them, the IYC congratulate him for the courage shown for the course of our people, congratulate every man or woman and group that stood up to demand justice for Ijaw people, this appointment attests to your vigor and dogged spirit which seeks no forgiveness in demanding for fairness, equity and Justice.
In the same vein the National Executive of the IYC on behalf of over thirty million Ijaw people commends the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government for making this appointment. It may have been long overdue, but better than never. The government must however, waste no time in substantiating this appointment by constituting the other members of board for the approval of the Senate as prescribed by Law, we must say that the uncertainty that beclouded the NDDC managerial board has now been taken away with the emergence of Prof Nelson Brambaifa who is a renowned technocrat and team player, whose experience will surely be put into use for an effective delivery.
Once again we congratulate our own Prof. Brambaifa for his appointment and urge him to never forget his root and those who cried foul when things were going bad; the doors must be kept open for our people. Ijaw people however, are totally confident in his ability to man the top job of the Commission to bring about positive results and deliver on the mandate of the Commission as envisaged by its establishing status.
Haaa Izon…
Long Live the IYC
Long Live the Ijaw Nation
Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria
