Some Honourable Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly and stakeholders in different constituencies in Lagos State have appreciated the electoral body, INEC, on the conduct of the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly election while asking for further improvement in the coming Governorship and State House of Assembly election on 9th March,2019.

The lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 11, Hon.Tunde Braimoh, commended the electoral process saying that it has been credible with impressive turnout in his constituency. He also expressed optimism about victory for his party.

Another lawmaker, Hon. Rotimi Olowo, the much talked about philanthropist representing Shomolu Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, on his part asked INEC to be on top of its responsibility in the upcoming election. He stated this while addressing journalists at his office complex in Shomolu.

Olowo, as fondly called by his fans, was sure of victory in his constituency for his party, the All Progressives Congress. Hon. Rotimi is also working assiduously in preparation for the Governorship and State House of Assembly election coming up on the 9th March, 2019, in which he is seeking reelection to the Lagos State House of Assembly. He hinted that he was not that satisfied by INEC’s lateness to different polling booths in Shomolu and his environs which discouraged voters from coming to vote.

According to him, with the postponement of the election, he had expected INEC to be on top of the situation. He said averagely that everything was successful; there was enough security everywhere and no ballot box snatching was experienced anywhere around his constituency. He equally expressed great optimism that his party, the All Progressives Congress will win the upcoming election convincingly across his constituency and the state at large.

The Honourable Chairman of Kosofe Local Government area of Lagos State, Hon. Babatunde Sofola, on his part advised the electoral umpire, INEC, to get all materials ready well ahead of the night before the Governorship and State House of Assembly election.

Speaking on the voters’ turnout which was not in large number in some polling units due to late arrival of materials in Ketu and Ojota areas, he said that in his own community it was massive and peaceful.

However, he noted that logistics is very important in election process as the card readers not functioning well was another challenge; before the technicians came to work on them the scheduled time for election was far spent. Babatunde stressed that they should try as much as possible to get the vehicles for the distribution of electoral materials in good order so that if there is any fault on the vehicles before the commencement of the election they will easily be fixed.

According to him, “this is most peaceful election we have ever had with no miscreant disrupting the exercise though there were reports from some other places but by and large things were smooth. I congratulate all the APC candidates in the State on their electoral victory”.
