The Police at Zone 2 Onikan, Lagos, have finally bowed to pressure to prosecute a 23-year old, Ademeso Olasunkanmi, who allegedly defiled a 5-year old girl by penetrating her through her anus and private part in Lagos
.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that incident had happened at 47, Erede Street in Ekerube area of Abaranje in Ikotun, Lagos where they reside.

Olasukanmi was said to have been released earlier and freed by the police before the Child Protection Advocate and other nongovernmental organizations raised alarm.

The medical report conducted on the victim at the Mirabel Centre in Ikeja showed that the victim was actually abused and she named Olasunkanmi as the person that violated her. But the police chose to conduct its own test by violating the victim at the Zone 2 Police Command and later released the suspect.

However, following the outcry by the victim’s parents and NGOs, the suspect was rearrested and charged before the Igbosere Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
The prosecutor, Mr. Jimoh Joseph, informed the court that it was a case of defilement and would need the advice of the DPP.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, D. Ojo, ordered him to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
Olasunkaanmi was remanded in prison at Ikoyi pending the report of the DPP which is expected to come out on the adjourned date slated on 10th April, 2019.
The matter came to limelight after the police at Ikotun Division declared Olasunkanmi, who was the son of the victim’s landlady wanted over the dastardly act.
He reportedly committed the act, fled the house and went into hiding for several months. However, he was later arrested at his hideout in Gowon Estate and detained at the Ikotun Division for prosecution.
The matter was said to have turned upside down when one Barrister Onyebuchi wrote a petition to Zone 2 Police Command and the DPO was asked to transfer the case probably to frustrate the complainant.
Olasunkaanmi had allegedly lured the victim into his apartment, pulled her pant and penetrated her both through her private and anus.
According to the father of the victim, after the dastardly act, he warned the victim not to tell her parents or he will kill her.
However, when the victim was taken to the bathroom, she did not allow her mother to touch her private part because of the pains. When her private part was checked, it was discovered that her private parts was tampered with.
The matter was then reported to the police and since then the suspect abandoned their house and went into hiding to evade arrest.
The matter later turned into a threat for the victim’s family as the landlady and her children told them that they had to bear what the suspect, Olasunkanmi did to the little girl because they were their tenant. Since the incident happened, the family had been under threat and they went into hiding.
