Man Fondles Breasts, Lures Girl, 17, Into Sex Romp

A 17-year old girl was reportedly lured into a sex romp after the suspect, 39-year old Fatai Oladapo, was said to have got her confused by fondling her breasts.

The incident happened on 20th March, 2019, at Alaba Street in Egbeda area of Lagos where they reside.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the suspect reportedly lured the victim, used words of mouth to confuse her, fondled her breasts and she became more confused. He then pulled her pant and penetrated her.
However, after the victim realised what happened, she broke down in tears and raised alarm claiming that she was raped.
The matter was reported to the police and Oladapo was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation.
During interrogation, Oladapo denied that he raped her as she had claimed; he told the police that it was with her consent that he slept with her.
However, the victim insisted that she was forced into the act; that if it was with her consent, she would have not raised alarm and reported to the police.
The police found Oladapo culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
His plea was taken after the prosecutor, Inspector Christopher John, told the Court that the victim was a minor and the matter would require the DPP’s advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, ordered him to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice. The matter was adjourned till 24th April, 2019, for report of the DPP to be ready.
However, the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and he will be tried for defilement.
