“I want to assure that the team will represent the state well at the Federation Cup at the national level and we will ensure that, if need be, we beef up the team as well,” Adeboye said.
To the chairman of Lagos FA, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, the WGB/Lagos FA Cup is getting better by the years. He said the standard and the performance of clubs in this year’s competition were high, adding that with a non league club winning the Cup showed that the competition was highly competitive.
“This shows that no team should be underrated, You can see those big clubs falling by the way on the roads to the final. I believe that the best team in Lagos this year is Smart City FC,” said the chairman, who is also the 2nd Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation.
Akinwunmi commended the support the Lagos FA has been receiving through the sponsorship from Winners Golden Bet. He said the WGB has added values to the organisation of the FA Cup
