2 Single Ladies Batter Friend In Public Fight

The Police in Lagos have arrested two single ladies, namely Yinka Aliu and Chinenye Apeh, who allegedly connived and jointly battered another lady, Elizabeth Ogunyemi, in public.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Titilayo Street, Isolo area of Lagos, where they reside.

The real cause of the fight was not disclosed by the Police as they stated that it was a case of assault on the victim and found the ladies culpable because they had also admitted in their statement.

It was gathered that the victim, Elizabeth, had offended the suspects over an undisclosed matter, they confronted her but she did not show any remorse which made them to jointly attack and beat her silly. During the brawl, her necklace and other accessories were damaged before their neighbours came to her rescue but by then she had already sustained serious injury
She was taken to nearby a hospital before the matter was reported to the police at Ejigbo Division, who then arrested the suspects and detained at the station for investigation.
They were later charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conspiracy and assault.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that the defendants actually committed the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade, granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
However, they were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 26th June, 2019.
