Here are the six major reasons why Hollywood studios should be looking in the direction of Nigeria for production.

1. Large But Unsaturated Market:

Nigeria is the most populous African country (190 million), services by less than 50 cinemas.

2. Skilled But Affordable Workforce:

The cost of production in Nigeria pales in comparison to most countries, considering that most of the crucial skills required for movie-making are strongly present.

3. Vast, Untapped History & Culture:

Nigeria is gifted with over 250 ethnic groups, all complete with unique language, rich culture & history. The potential for an intricate web of stories & characters is limitless.

4. Media-friendly Govt:

Aside from the fact that film-related businesses now fall into the exempted class for tax purposes, the current administration, in the person of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is dedicated to promoting Nigeria’s potential as a prime destination for the global film community to invest.

5. Rapid Growth:

The total box office for Nigeria has pretty much doubled every year since 2016, even with a slight slowdown in 2018.

6. Thriving Local Content Slate:

Nigeria stands ahead of the African pack as one of the only nations where local content receives just as much attention as Hollywood, and in certain regions, more attention.
