Oyetola Is An Exemplary Leader – Energy Expert

An Energy Expert, Iragbiji, Osun State-born professional renewable energy promoter and social commentator, Prince Okedele Timothy Adekola, said that the current Executive Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, is a unique Governor with indication that the state will flourish under his administration.

Okedele noted this and expressed delight at the present performances of Governor Oyetola, stressing that the Governor is not paying lips service to the challenges confronting the state.

The Energy expert therefore used the medium to laud Oyetola’s various patriotic actions which he is taking in the directions of making Osun safe, progress and enviable.

First, he commended the Governor for his prudent and meticulous directive for the LGs Chairmen of Osun State to suspend their planned trip to Dubai for capacity building, noting that, though it is important to continue to expose government officials to capacity enhancement, but the financial situation of the state is not favorable for such.

Okedele also stated that the state presently needs those who will sacrifice personal fund, ideas and time to grow it, asserting that there was a time when he invested his own resources and time to embark and still investing on a research journey to South Korea to seek innovative technological ways toward enhancing the spheres of energy, jobs, environment, agric-tourism, smart city, Clever village, Clean mobility, water, waste and security of the nation.

He emphasized as a concerned Osun citizen, who once publicly declared to relinquished 20% of his gratuity to augment the state during the purr of economic recession in a publication dated Monday April 4, 2016, on News Direct Newspaper with caption Title:- “Inadequate power supply: Nigeria needs comprehensive energy audit – Expert”
Reflecting on Governor Oyetola’s planned Economic Summit that aimed at harnessing Osun State economy, indigenous human potential and international investors, Okedele urged the Governor to take advantage of possible collaboration and partnership to diversify and create a sustainable economic growth, that will make His Excellency to become the first brains and leader with pacesetters that hailed from Osun State of Nigeria.
The energy expert, Okedele, in his remark said that the State Economic Summit of Oyetola is a larger form of what used to be in Iragbiji, his hometown, under the leadership of His Royal Majesty and a distinguished scholar Oba (Alhaji) Abdul-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV.

As a Renewable Energy Tourist that had travel outside the nation, he likened the Governor Oyetola’s State Economic Summit with that of South Korea and Singapore where investors were attracted to invest in critical growth sectors, thereby leading to economic prosperity and growth in the state.

While lauding the Governor’s quality of leadership and exemplary patriotism as hallmark of progress, Okedele said that in 2010, an Italian scientist and investor, Dot. Maurizio Bedei, who is an exclusive representative of an Italian giant manufacturer of waste and bio-mass in energy technology plant was in Nigeria by his effort and at the
instance of the former Oyo State Government under the leadership His Excellency, Former Governor, Adetunji Alao Akala, to seek area of investment, and partnership. During the August visit, Governor Oyetola who was a private individual whose priority is to development Nigeria admitted, harbored and fed the team of experts during their tour
within the South West states of Nigeria that includes Ekiti State, Osun State, Ondo State and Ogun State.

According to Okedele, Governor Oyetola’s gesture enhanced the team of experts mission in a big way and the record still remains in the Ministry of Environment Osun State, Oyo State, Ekiti State and Ondo states respectively.

He recalled that Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s great antecedent is of no equal, while noting that no one can argue the fact that Osun State is in good hands.

Okedele buttressed his readiness to deploy his fast knowledge, capacity to marshal the best of his foreign partners from Singapore, Russia, UK, USA-NJ, South-Korea, Brazil, Germany, India and China, who are with intimidating track records in agric, waste, Bio-mass, environment, Heath, tourism, Smart home technologies, new
renewable and market of advanced technologies of new alternative power engineering to fast track the development of Osun State.

He promised to make Osun State to be the first to actualize (green) full renewable energy towards boosting power to run the state’s industries, homes including university, teaching hospital, polytechnics and vocational schools. He further advised the Governor to create Osun State Ministry of Renewable Energy to enable fast achievement, while
he expressed the readiness of his foreign investors with interest to transfer technology and financial capability to pursue green project that will turn the economy of Osun State around and make it a model.
He said he will bring the experts if the consent of his Excellency is given, especially as these projects will remove the state from the list of poor IGR and debt state as being published in some media.

Prince Okedele stressed that the Governor’s visit to the Presidency and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, recently to ensure that no kidnapper, armed robber, terrorists would see Osun state as an abode or operational base, is an indication of his love for the state, his giant strides towards ridding the state of all forms of
criminality, brigandage or banditry to ensure that the state remains safe for habitation and business is awesome.

Okedele said that his company had in the past before terrorism reached its full fledge introduced security initiative and anti-terror devices from Italy. He further said the initiative is capable of nipping terrorism in the bud but the Federal Government did not adopt or appreciate it.

Prince Okedele, who was member of 13 delegates from Nigeria that participated in South Korea “SWEET 2013” Solar, Wind, earth energy and Anti-pollution trade exhibition in Gwanju metropolitan city in his financial and private capacity, said the that Solar Wind, earth energy and Anti-pollution trade exposed the richness of Korea and the Asia technology, technologist and investors. He further testified that it would not have been possible if he had not seized the vista of the opportunity extended to him by through the KOTRA: Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, Commercial Attaché of the Republic of South Korea and NASME’s organized mission to visit Korea for the “2013 -SWEET”.

The indigene of Osun State pointed that he seized the SWEET:2013 opportunity despite serious financial challenges just to ensure that he attained his full potentials in his research and development targeted at power, agric enhancement and making the State of Osun an African Alternative Energy Center which will undoubtedly attracted tourists from various part of the world for the expansion of the economy of the state. Okedele therefore, urged Osun State indigenes at home and in the Diaspora to think outside the box and see ways they can contribute to the overall development of the state.
Prince Okedele further said he visited the secretariat of the agency of Korea Government (Ministry of Trade: Industry, Energy and Environment Ministry) organizers of (Busan- Korea & Hanoi-Vietnam) Environment & Energy Technology event due to his desire to improve  infrastructural, weak economy, energy, youth unemployment and inability to enhance science and technology which are the problems bedeviling Nigeria’s growth.

According to Okedele, his interaction with then chairman of the organizing committee of ”ENTECH:2013” (Wind -Korea & Hanoi-Vietnam ENTECH) YERI KANG (MS.) through the assistance of secretariat of ENTECH, made a huge success in his mission aimed at enabling the Secretariat to help in training Nigeria’s young graduates
/students and civil servants to be skillful in renewable energy, environment, power conservation, water treatment, solar installation and other related green technology/equipment, towards becoming self employed and service providers.

Okedele in his remark, said he regretted that all his efforts through various publication in Nigeria dailies, online, Radio/TV propaganda, invitations and proposals to both Federal and State government
ministries, department and agencies, even proposal and invitation forwarded to the wife of some governors in the south west geo-political zone was taken with levity, without acknowledgement and thus all his self financed efforts embarked on since 2010 to assist growth of Nigeria were thwarted by bureaucracy in the system. Despite of all these, he said he would still assist the State to achieve developmental goals wherever his assistance was needed.
