Osun Governor, Oyetola Begins Operation Lights Up Osogbo

The Government of Osun State has begun gradual lighting up of the capita city, Osogbo in one of its effort to ensure security vigilance and to strengthen of night life.
P.M. EXPRESS reports that the lighting up of the state capital is also Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s effort to expand economic viability and provide smooth vehicular traffic at night within Osogbo metropolis.
The Operation Light Up Osogbo project is being handled by the Ministry of Works and Transport.
It was gathered that the initiative was directed by the Governor with the first phase which is targeted at restoring the street lights from the Government House; Oke Fia down to Orita Olaiya. These areas have been enjoying full light throughout the night.
P.M. EXPRESS can report that the second phase of the lighting up project, which will start next week, will see the road from Orita Olaiya to the Government Secretariat, Abeere being captured in the project.
Other major roads in the state capital will also come on board gradually.
“One is confident that this strategy will minimize crime rate on our highways at night, boost commercial activities and make Osogbo receptive to visitors as we commend Mr. Oyetola for this thoughtful creativity,” a resident remarks.
