Baruwa Takes Over As New NURTW National President

The long awaited 9th Quadrennial Delegates Conference of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, took place at the NAF Centre, Abuja, 29th August, 2019, and it also witnessed the inauguration of the newly elected officials.

At the well attended event, the swearing in of new National President, which was zoned to the South West and other new officials, was done accordingly by the outgoing NURTW President, Alhaji Najeem UsmanYasin, according to the constitution of the association.

Speaking at the event, the New National President of the NURTW, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa, thanked the Almighty Allah and appreciated everybody present at the inauguration. He promised to follow the footstep of the outgoing President, Alhaji Usman Yasin and also to do his best God helping him.

The new President, also with a sign of respect and appreciation invited Alhaji Yasin, to the high table, calling him Baba while saying that he is like a father to him.

Unlike what many had anticipated, the inauguration went on well and thereafter the new President of the NURTW, Alhaji Ibikunle Baruwa, followed by the newly elected officers Vice Presidents representing different zones, MC Oluomo and Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede took pictures before the official closing of the conference.
