Ihedioha VS Okorocha: Focus On Governance, Mbaise Mega Movement Advises Gov Ihedioha
CHUKA UBAH

A sociopolitical group, Mbaise Mega Movement, has advised the Executive Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, to be wary of lawless rascals in his governance, maintain focus on governance and leave the former Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, alone.
In a statement made available to P.M.EXPRESS, the group said, “Imolites are watching you. The political honey moon is expiring; they have identified the presence of political rascals in your government with their own hidden agenda”.
“Political rascality has its place during politicking and election campaigns. Elections are over and governance has begun”.
“In case you don’t realize it, most of these rascals in your administration have their own hidden agenda outside what you think; some of them are already warming up for 2023 elections using your government as a platform and you as the eventual scape goat.”
“We condemn and dissociate ourselves from the embarrassing scenario that was witnessed in Imo State on Thursday 29th August, 2019, where a government official led thugs to the private residence of ex-governor, Senator Owelle Rochas Okorocha, in his absence. Unfortunately, the said official got beaten up by irate youths, who were kind enough to have spared him. Evidently, they were not blood suckers but they acted in self-defense.”

“Simultaneously, another top government functionary led another set of thugs to Imo Airport to attack Owelle Rochas Okorocha and force him out of Imo State. A declaration of war? He even threatened to attack him anywhere he is seen in Imo State; be it Ogboko his village or at Spibat, his private residence in Owerri or his house behind Concorde Hotel, Owerri.”
“We had thought that any major activity in Imo Airport by your administration would have been to get the Cargo Section working as soon as possible; continuity from where your predecessor stopped.”
“Imagine the impression that Imo Airport has become the centre for political thuggery, intimidation and threats. How frightening and discouraging that image will be to foreign travellers, tourists and investors who have Imo State in their itinerary.”
“Of what relevance are these deeds to the progress of Imo State in general and the image of the very first Governor in Imo State of Mbaise extraction?”
“Sir, are you not aware that any crisis in this state will represent failure on your side? This anarchy that is brewing will scare away investors from Imo State and thereby erode the internally generated revenue of the state.”
“In the event of the above, you will fail to manage the burden of paying 100% salary (with the 30% minimum wage burden) to Imo workers. Sir, your word is your bond.”
“Your government is bloated with men and women with expensive tastes and very large appetite for money. How can you maintain them and still successfully work for Imo State with your predecessor’s achievements as the yardstick for measurements of success in the minds of Imolites?”
“Beware!!! This campaign by your administration against Senator Rochas Okorocha is becoming irritating to Imolites. The rascals around you won’t let you see through. These are men with ulterior motives and sooner than you expect they will turn against you as they are unrestrained in their disposition with their quest for power and control unquenchable.”
“The talk about stopping Senator Rochas Okorocha from entering Imo State, even as a serving Senator of Orlu Senatorial Zone, will not pass a comic test. It’s the imagination of a drunk. Did they say power intoxicates…?”
Your Excellency Sir, please stop chasing shadows now. Stop listening to these rascals. Stop further embarrassment to your government and your person!”
If Owelle Rochas Okorocha is indeed a looter and a criminal, then allow the anti-graft agencies to do their job. You have already petitioned and “a man remains innocent until proven guilty”.
“It may be painful for you to realize that your campaign against Rochas Okorocha has made him more popular than he was. A credit you won’t like to take. Tame these men now! Take charge of your emotions! Imo is watching you, Sir; they want progressive actions, clear vision and direction. The general talk in town is that your government is visionless and directionless.”
“It’s more tasking to erase this impression than to chase and blackmail Rochas. One may not like Rochas but the works he did are speaking for him in all the nooks and crannies of Imo State.”
“Of course, in politics they say you don’t praise your opponent but sadly enough, you can’t wish away his huge achievements. The only way to dwarf Senator Rochas Okorocha in Imo State is to outdo him in practical, visible, touchable and ‘feelable’ achievements, while praying that he does not still go further to achieve more at the Federal level. As you can see, it is a herculean task.”
“So far, your 100 days in office is a shadow of what Rochas Okorocha did in 100 days; a minus already registered by Imolites. We shall not praise you but we shall tell you the undiluted truth. We are not sycophants.”
“Don’t drag Mbaise’s image to the mud; leave Rochas Okorocha and get to work, Sir. Imolites have eyes and they are seeing with them. A palm oil seller in the market does not pray for violence in the market because he stands to lose. As you ponder over this, check your rascally aides. Train them on modern political trends. Teach them to eschew this crude, primitive and obsolete political modus operandi. Imo has grown past this phase.”
“If you must chase after Senator Rochas Okorocha, remember, the ant said, “throwing me into a raging fire is not a problem but bringing me out of the fire is the ‘main event”, the Mbaise Mega Movement concluded.
