How 10-Year-Olds ‘Wowwed’ Celebrities At The mPulse Planet

Posted on September 20, 2019

Talent is not a ‘small something’. To find one’s talent and harness is not an easy job. Millions of people go about their lives without realizing what their talents could be and they’re fine with it  – dealing with other options instead. Yet there are some that find out what they’re capable of at a very young age and then blow our minds with their gifts.

On Friday, August 23, 2019, kids showed us why they are the bosses of the future as thousands of young children between the ages of 9 and 15 gathered at the Landmark Event Centre for MTN Nigeria’s mPulse Planet supported by Access Bank.

The planet was a world of adventure, fun and technology that gave children a look into what the year 2044 would look like.

Like the previous year when the mPulse proposition was launched, many children trooped to the popular mPulse Radio section to see what Nigerian stars had in stock for them.

In 2018, Maria Okanrende (popular media personality) and Chidinma Ekile (singer and songwriter) delighted children on the radio show at the mPulse Planet.

This year, Emmanuel ‘Mannie’ Essien (popular On Air Personality) and Emmanuella Stephen (popular child star) dazzled the children with questions on life, their style and school.

Both stars chatted with children who were aiming to be the future ‘talk queens and kings’ of the Nigerian airwaves.

The kids wasted no time giving us a peep into what the next generation of media personalities would be up to, with their quick wit and hilarious comebacks.

Stephanie Jegede, a 9 year-old who wanted to be a doctor, surgeon, dancer and OAP explained why she was going to be the best OAP in the world:  “the whole world will listen to me because I will know about everything!”

Recently, at the mPulse Planet, over 5,000 kids got to show off their talent at the biggest summer event of the year.

From the ‘Snap City’, “Smallville’ and other attractions, to the Tech Town that had everything that kids could think of and more, children had a blast and they had no qualms showing that.

MTN mPulse is an exciting proposition from MTN created to equip students between the ages of 9 and 15 years with the resources they need to maximize their potential.

The service offers kids (primary and secondary school students) lots of freebies and features such as free birthday credit, free data for WhatsApp, practice questions for Common Entrance, WAEC, JSSCE and JAMB, Videos and lots of games.
