Prophet Caught Stealing Neighbour’s Goat, Threatens Owner With Charms

A popular self acclaimed Prophet, Solomon Oni Opaalade, has been arrested after he reportedly sneaked into one of his neighbours house and allegedly stole turkeys and goat and was caught by the owner, Oluwasegun Hammed.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that when Prophet Opaalade was caught by the owner, he brought out charms which he tried to use to instill fear in the owner, Hammed.
The incident happened at Baruwa area of Osogbo, Osun State, where they reside.
However, the owner, Hammed, who was not cowed, went to the Police Station and reported the alleged theft; Opaalade was arrested and detained at the Station for investigation.
After investigation, the Police found him culpable for allegedly stealing the turkeys and a goat and threatened the owner with charms.
He was arraigned at a Magistrates Court on Monday, October 28th.
The Principal State Counsel from the State Ministry of Justice, Adekunle Adeniyi, told the Court that the prophet stole nine turkeys valued at N270,000 and a goat valued at N18,000 belonging to one Oluwasegun Hammed.
Prophet Opaalade was said to have committed the alleged offence at Baruwa area in Osogbo. According to the State Counsel, Opaalade used charms to threaten Hammed in a manner that could cause breach of public peace.
Opaalade pleaded not guilty.
However, the Magistrate, Mrs. Adijat Oloyede, declined the bail request by his lawyer and ordered that he should be remanded in Ilesha Correctional Centre till 12th December, 2019, for mention.
