The fear of unknown has forced two young men to flee their homes after what they thought was an act of ‘Good Samaritans’ turned to nightmare for them.
This is not a good time for Abubakar Fadil Oladimeji and Adeyemi Olansile Azeez, whose lives have been in danger after they rescued a neighbour, Segun Oke from being attacked by two men suspected to be a member of secret cult at Opeilu in Agbado area of Ifo Local Government, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.
The incident occurred on the night of Sunday, 27th October, 2019 when Abubakar and Adeyemi, both 26 years of age, were returning home. Some few metres to their home on 3 Okeowo Street, Opeilu, Agbado, they saw Segun Oke running towards their direction in the dark as there was a power outage on that night.
By the time Oke reached where they stood, they saw two other men running after him with sticks in their hands attempting to hit the helpless Oke. This prompted Abubakar and Adeyemi to interfere by preventing the two assailants from beating their victim. Knowing that the game was up for them, the two assailants were forced to run away.
It was however a different story the second day on Monday when around 7pm, five men came to look for Abubakar and Adeyemi at home, brandishing cutlasses, small axes and charms, claiming that the two young men had offended their group, Eiye Cult, by not allowing them to deal with Segun Oke the previous night. Luckily for Abubakar and Adeyemi, they were not at home.
The members of the cult repeated their visit two days later and came again on Friday, 2 November, 2019, this time around they vowed that Abubakar and Adeyemi won’t escape their judgement even the law enforcement agents will not be able to save them..
From that day, the two young has fled their home, leaving their families to run for their dear lives.
