Police officers from the Ejigbo Division led by the DPO, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, have embarked on patching of terrible pot holes, which are causing accidents and traffic congestions on the roads in the area.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the DPO, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, mobilised her officers with some bags of granite, sand and cement to the dangerous pot holes at NNPC Road leading to Ajao Estate, Lagos.
It was gathered that the Police were worried over traffic congestion on roads leading to Ejigbo and its environs. Hence, they started looking for palliative measures and observed that pot holes on the roads contributed hugely to the traffic making road users to stay on the roads for several hours on daily basis.
The officers moved materials from their station, went to the roads and started patching the pot holes to the admiration of the residents, who then volunteered and joined in the process to make Ejigbo roads passable before work would commence on the roads as promised by the Government.
According to the residents, the Police have been patching up the pot holes to the extent that the men of Neighborhood Watch and other sister security agencies had no option than to join except the LASTMA officials at Ejigbo branch.

One of the PCRC members, Engr. Ibrahim Adeshina, said he was returning from work and met the DPO and other officers working on the road. He said he had no choice than to join them.
This has been attracting commendations from the residents, who believe that the Police have practically changed unlike in the past when they brought suspects from cells to do it.
While commendations were coming from motorists and the residents, night hawkers along the road were not happy over the recent action by the Police on the pot holes in the area. They lamented that since the Police started coming to the roads leading to Ejigbo, their sales have dropped drastically with the reduction of traffic for some days.
“We come to the roads to hawk our wares in the evening and make sales but since the Police started coming out to ensure free flow of traffic, they have destroyed our business” one of them lamented.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the Police might have embarked on the repairs to ease traffic in order to save the hours they spent on the roads controlling traffic both in the mornings and evenings.
It was gathered that the officers, including the DPO, Olabisi Okuwobi, usually spend several hours up to 1am controlling traffic on both Jakande Gate and NNPC Junction almost everyday.
