How Redeemed Pastor’s Son Stabbed Brother To Death Over N500

It was double tragedy for Pastor Alfred Nwekegbu of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG Province 64 Ejigbo, Lagos, after his son, Fortune, stabbed his younger brother, Chinaza, to death over N500 for transport in order to attend church service on Sunday.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Police operatives from Shasha Division in Lagos have started manhunt for Fortune Ikechukwu over the death of late Chinaza, who is now in the mortuary.
It was gathered that the suspect, Fortune, was declared wanted after the father reported the incident to the Police as he was said to be on the run after he discovered that he had murdered his brother.
The tragic incident occurred at Tokunbo House, Kamoru Street, Orisumbare area of Shasha, Alimosho Local government area of Lagos State, where they reside.
Trouble reportedly started between Fortune and the deceased after their mother gave Chinaza N500 for transport to attend church service and the deceased was unable to get change to share the money among them.
The brothers were said to have got into a heated argument after Chinaza refused releasing the whole N500 his mother gave him to his elder brother, Fortune.
The suspect, Fortune, reportedly broke a glass cup and stabbed the deceased on the throat, which resulted to him bleeding profusely. Fortune was said to have rushed him to Jumoke Hospital in Orisumbare area of Lagos, where he eventually died.
Having seen that he had murdered his brother, he went back to their house, collected his ATM card, withdrew money and escaped.
When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited their residence, Pastor Nwekegbu was said to have gone out over the incident but the embittered mother confirmed the incident while lamenting over the temptation that had besieged the family.
She said that the matter was reported to the Police but since the incident happened, Fortune had not been seen in the house.
Police source at Shasha Division also confirmed the incident and said that Fortune Ikechukwu was now at large and the Police were making every efforts to arrest him for prosecution.
Sympathizers and church members trooped to the family house to console the family over the ugly incident.
