Gov Dave Umahi Accused Of Abuse Of Human Right & Unlawful Detention

The wife of the Founder of Economic Strategic Growth and Development Initiative of Africa (ESGADIA), Mrs. Favour Agommuo, has accused the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr Dave Umuahi, of using his executive powers as a Governor to detain her husband, Maazi Obinna Agommuo, without recourse to law.

 The Governor allegedly unlawfully without the order of a Court had since 30th December, 2019, asked that he be locked up over a misunderstanding that occurred between them. The secret service officers in the state acted on the orders of the Governor even when they have established that he committed no crime.

Economic Strategic Growth and Development Initiative is an African wide economic development and industrialization advocacy body, being chaired by the reputable international Kenyan lawyer, Professor PLO Lumumba, amongst other prominent Africans and Diaspora Africans both in America and the Caribbean.

Mrs. Agommuo is calling on the Federal Government of Nigeria and the International community to come to her husband’s rescue and save him from the executive recklessness of the Governor of Ebonyi State. She says her family is worried that the Governor has refused to come public with her husband’s offence and has detained him without recourse to law or any Court order, which is a lawless behaviour and abuse of her husband’s fundamental human right.

As a matter of fact, she said that her husband has been kept incommunicado and his health situation is currently unknown. The Governor, it is believed, is demonstrating how powerful he is in the scheme of things in Nigeria and has without Court order adopted and detained Maazi Obinna Agommuo indefinitely.
