Prince Kayode Afolabi from the Atoyebi Ruling House was on Tuesday installed as the Alapomu of Apomu in Isokan Local Government Area of Osun State.

The stool of Alapomu had been vacant since the death of Oba Lasisi Afolabi of Ayeye Ruling House in 2015.

A media and public relations practitioner, the new Alapomu is married to veteran journalist and publisher of Scroll Magazine, Janet Mba-Afolabi.

A Facebook post by the new Olori and 1999 CNN Journalist of The Year Award winner, Oloori Janet Mba-Afolabi, reads: “Dear Friends and colleagues, I’m pleased to inform you that my husband, Kayode Afolabi has been made the new king of Apomu, Headquarters of Isokan Local government area of Osun State.

His appointment was approved by Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola on January 6, 2020. The installation took place Tuesday, January 7 in Apomu Town.
