Lagos Monarch, Elegushi Plans Big For 10th Year Anniversary

Debonair Lagos monarch, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi is set to shake the Lagos social scene, as activities gears up towards the 10th anniversary of his ascendance on the throne as the Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom.

Oba Elegushi was installed as the 21st Elegushi on April, 27, 2010, following the demise of his predecessor and father, Oba Yekini Adeniyi Elegushi.

Sources close to the stylish monarch told P.M.EXPRESS that to ensure a well coordinated event for the first decade on the throne, a strategy committee headed by Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Lagos State Head of Service and close ally of the king, has been put together and already meeting to deliver a stellar anniversary celebration for the king.

Some of the activities being planned for the anniversary, which will commence around the Easter Season, includes a football competition for Secondary schools, a book launch, royalty nite and anniversary ball.

In similar fashion, a state-of-the-art multi-purpose edifice is being constructed around the King’s palace, as this will be the venue for most of the events.

A visit to the facility, named “The Monarch” shows that work is at advanced state as the King has directed the contractor to complete the project in time for the anniversary.
