The founder and General Overseer of Rock of Ages Ministry, Pastor Eze Agu, has given reasons for the introduction of the doctrine of using beer as Holy Communion in their Church.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Pastor of the Church, located at Nnewi town in Anambra State, explained that what the Church was doing was in line with Bible teachings as such it was not sinful to offer his members beer as Holy Communion.

Pastor Eze Agu said, “Jesus turned water into wine, therefore using beer as Holy Communion is not a sin. The miracle of wine, which Jesus performed in Canaan, was not soft drink therefore drinking alcohol is not sin but getting drunk is bad”.

Pastor Agu further quoted from the Bible where Apostle Paul told Timothy to take wine for his stomach problem. He serves beer every last Sunday of the month as communion and his members believe strongly in him. His membership is growing faster than any church in the Southeast, because he is not preaching against drinking of alcohol.

But some people, who heard what was going on in the Church, had been asking if it was proper to serve beer as Holy Communion in the church. Some cautioned that people should be careful with the end time churches and end time preachers.

“Wonder shall never end; many things are going on in the Church of God, what you cannot see in the night club you will see it in the church. Many pastors have turned the churches upside down; they preach in error and make people to believe in lies. Many have been deceived” a concerned resident said.

However, that has not stopped the membership of the Church from increasing on a daily basis as some were said to be excited with the new teaching, which Pastor Agu seems to be using to draw membership to the Church.
