Stanbic IBTC Staff Sent To Prison For Stealing N.5m

A staff of Stanbic IBTC Bank, Ibrahim Oladimeji has landed in trouble after he allegedly tampered with over N500,000 belonging to the Bank during the Christmas period in Lagos State.
The incident happened at the Okota branch of the bank where Oladimeji was deployed as the accounting officer.
He was charged with stealing before Isolo Magistrate’s court from where he was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri, Lagos.
P.M. EXPRESS gathered that the suspect collected monies from a bank’s customer and tampered with it by keeping the amount to himself.
However, troubled started when the bank management was reconciling account and discovered that N508,000 was missing and was traced to Oladimeji.
He was confronted and reportedly opened up and was handed to the police at Okota division who charged him to court for the alleged offence..
He pleaded guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Adedayo granted Oladimeji bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 13 February 2017.
