After Team Lagos secured 16 out of 19 spots in the team events at the just concluded South West Zonal Elimination ahead of 2020 National Sports Festival scheduled for Edo State in March, management of the Lagos State Sports Commission has commended both male and female football team for their performance.

Chairman of the Commission, Sola Aiyepeku and the Director General, Gafaar Bolowotan were among the dignitaries who cheered the male team of Lagos to victory when they clashed with Team Osun on Wednesday at Agege Stdium. Lagos won the crucial encounter 6-0.

Aiyepeku told P.M EXPRESS that he was satisfied with the performance of Team Lagos in both the male and female football during the zonal elimination which Lagos hosted, adding that the Commission will leave nothing to chance to ensure that Team Lagos excel in all qualified sports in Edo State.

“Our players did extremely well and they need to be encouraged and supported in their preparation for the National Sports Festival. What I saw today (Wednesday) was a clear indication that Team Lagos will come out in flying colours in Edo,”he said

In his own remark, Bolowotan expressed gratitude to Team Lagos, for their unrelenting effort to secure tickets in both the male and female football. He said the Commission will continue to support the team and ensure that they have good preparation.

He said aside football, Team Lagos have done well in other sports and urged the coaches and players to give their best at the National Sports Festival.
