Nigeria’s Lasisi Aliu is upbeat on taking his opponent from the Dominican Republic, Norbelto Jimenez to the cleaners, when both professional boxers step into the boxing ring come 6,March, 2020, in a 10rRound title defence for the WBC International Super-Flyweight title billed for the Rotunda, Ceasars Palace, Blue water, Dubai, UAE.
Both pugilists are of 29 years and they are expected to go toe-to-toe. The Nigerian is confident of coming out victorious before the end of the bout. The two boxers’ style are Orthodox, but Aliu is of the view that he is battle ready for his opponent.
Yet to record any defeat in his professional boxing career so far, the Nigerian is sure of defeating his opponent not taking into consideration Jimenez’s boxing prowess.
Jimenez is ranked 33 as against Aliu’s 44 but the Nigerian pugilist is not intimidated with the ranking difference,
“The ranking to me has nothing to do with this fight, I’ve been training hard ahead of this fight and I don’t see Jimenez getting to Round 10. He would definitely fall before the end of
Round 10, just like what Tyson Fury did to Deontay Wilder during their heavyweight fight recently,” Aliu boasted.
On his source of confidence, he opined that he is leaving nothing to chance to ensure that he comes out as the champion at the end of the day.
He, however, praised Fury for defeating Wilder despite not being a favourite before the fight, “Fury made my day for silencing Wilder and I can tell you that Fury’s victory will spur me against Jimenez come 6 March,” boasted Aliu.
