Y’ello Star: How You Can Become The Next Nigerian Music Sensation

Posted on February 27, 2020

Hey, it’s dawn and you wake up  thinking – ‘How soon, God?’ Then you get into the shower singing a cover of Simi’s ‘Joromi’, it gets a little technical but you maintain your pitch. You smile to yourself, realising you are actually more talented than you give yourself credit. Only, there is a problem. Getting recognised is about the hardest task.

The last time you tried, you trended on Twitter. Two days later, everyone forgot how much they loved your sweet special voice. Sincerely, it doesn’t even help that you are a bit of a shy bird. Okay, maybe not a bit!

As you begin to lose hope, bestie calls  to fill you in on the latest. Apparently, MTN Nigeria has launched a new music reality show – Y’ello Star, open to all and totally free. While you are excited, you remember you are an introvert and it turns out MTN already thought through your problem and fixed it before you even asked!

Now you can send in a digital entry  for a quick slot to the main audition.

Funny story, you are granted three options like the fairy godmother. Your dreams are literally in your hands!

All you have to do is visit http://www.mtnonline.com/yellostar, fill the registration form (this is easy peasy), upload a 60 secs video of yourself singing, strictly acapella or with a guitar, piano and any other musical instrument.

Once you do this, wait for the progress bar to turn green, accept the terms and conditions, click the ‘submit’ button and you will get an email notification confirming your registration.

As fairy godmother promised, you can also submit your entry via myMTNApp and on social media.

Remember, the journey doesn’t end here!

Once you have successfully submitted your entry through any of these platforms, you can share your entry to get your friends and family to vote for you.

Y’ello Star is a music platform created by Nigeria’s leading Telecommunications and Digital services provider, MTN Nigeria, to discover, nurture, expose and launch music talents among young Nigerians.

It is a platform created to turn things up for them and lift them from Nigeria to a global stage.
