Coach Black Tigana To Organise ‘Skills For Skills Extravaganza Soccer Tango’ For LASUTH, LASUCOM Staff

Coming from a background rich in football, former Nigerian international, Toyin Adegoke, popularly called Black Tigana in his playing days, has planned to organise a one-day screening and training programme for the staff and no staff ballers of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Drug Qualities, Alpha Forte and others.
The training programme tagged ‘Skills for Skills Extravaganza Soccer Tango’ will hold on Wednesday, 11 March, 2020 at the LASUTH/LASUCOM playground, Ikeja.
According to the initiator, Toyin Adegoke, who is also the Chief Coach of LASUTH/LASUCOM football team, the idea behind the training fiesta is to bring those staff and non staff who have football talent to have a platform display their artistry at the end of which the most talented 24 players would be selected to for a a central football team for LASUTH/LASUCOM.
“I discovered that we have a lot of football talents among our staff and non staff in both LASUTH and LASUCOM. They have been coming to me that I should give them chance to exercise their god-given talent and I think the time has come for them to prove their worth on the field of play. I want to see their level of fitness and present form.
“We want to have a standing team for LASUTH and LASUCOM so that we could call our players to camp for the annual Lagos HOS Cup, and even have a ready made team that we can use to play in the Lagos State Challenge Cup and other football championship.
“The Skills for Skills Extravaganza Soccer Tango is a few hour event starting from 4pm. We will have the opportunity of having some former Super Eagles stars to be part of the programme. Former players such as Julius Akpele, who played for Iwanyawu Nationale of Owerri and Stationary Stores of Lagos, as well as Joe Azinse a.k.a Big Joe, a former player of Rangers of Enugu.
“I am happy that we have management of LASUTH which is sports friendly. Our Chief Medical Director, Prof.Olatokunbo Fabanwo who is also a sports man has been so supportive of sports and other members of the management team,” Coach Adegoke said.

Some of the them include Stephen Aduku, a former footballer of Bayelsa United and Akwa United, Frank Edu, who once played professional football league in Cote d’Ivoire, Kuye Oriyomi, former Nigeria U-17 Golden Eaglets player, Samuel Osinowo, ex player of Spartan Football Club of Lagos, Adedeji Adebayo, former player of A.S.O FC of Benin Republic, Tunde Ogunleke, former player of Prime FC of Osogbo, Osun State.
Aduku is exciting that this training is coming at the right time, adding that “I’m so much excited that Coach could put up this kind of programme for us. I can’t wait for it. My determination is to pick a shirt as one of the players of LASUTH/LASUCOM football team. This is a rare opportunity. I am ready to put in my best and I pray that God will crown my effort, ” Aduku said.
