Agege Local Government Area is set to host the FC27 Ultimate Edition PS5 Tournament on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Local Government Secretariat, with a total prize pool of N1.75 million up for grabs.

The one-on-one gaming competition is expected to attract gamers, football enthusiasts and young people from across Lagos, with participants battling for honours on EA Sports’ FC27 on the PlayStation 5 platform.

Held under the theme “Fair Play. Good Vibes,” the tournament is designed to provide an exciting platform for participants to showcase their gaming skills while promoting healthy competition and positive leisure activities.

The winner will receive N1 million, while the first and second runners-up will take home N500,000 and N250,000, respectively.

Registration is currently open to interested participants. Organisers have provided a QR code on the official event flyer for online registration, while enquiries can be made via 0708 860 3607.

One of the major highlights of the opening day will be the Grand Opening Match, featuring a friendly FC27 showdown between two Lagos local government chairmen.

Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government Area, will take on Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku, Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA. The highly anticipated exhibition match is expected to add an official and entertaining dimension to the tournament while setting the tone for the competition.

The participation of the two council chairmen also highlights the use of contemporary youth-oriented activities, including gaming and popular culture, as avenues for community engagement.

Adding further excitement to the occasion, popular Nigerian entertainers Rahmon Jago and Small Doctor have been confirmed to attend event.

Beyond the gaming competition, organisers say the event is intended to promote youth engagement, talent discovery, community bonding and healthy competition.

With the tournament scheduled to kick off on Thursday, October 1, 2026, Nigeria’s Independence Day, attention will turn to the Agege Local Government Secretariat as gamers take their controllers and battle for the coveted FC27 crown and the N1.75 million prize fund.
