Gafaar Impressed With Team Lagos Football Squad’s Unbeaten Record

Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Oluwatoyin Gafar said he was impressed with the preparation of Team Lagos in the last two months.
Bolowotan disclosed this when he visited Team Lagos while playing Lagos State Polytechnic football team in a friendly match on Monday in Ikorodu.
The friendly match was put together as a preparation for the team ahead of National Sports Festival scheduled for Edo this month.
Bolowotan said the Commission is committed to give Team Lagos including male and female football teams total support to achieve their goals in the festival.
He said the reports he got from the male football team was a clear indication that the male football team are ready for the festival
“Our male football team have not lost a single match since after their qualification at the Zonal Elimination and they have played more than 15 matches without losing. This is to show that the team are focused, prepared and ready to perform well in festival.
“On our own part. we will ensure that all what the Team Lagos need would be provided in few days to do better. Presently Team Lagos are in camp and I am impressed with the commitment of other athletes in various sports,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hassan Akinkunmi goal in the 89th minutes was all Team Lagos football male team needed to beat stubborn Lagos State Polytechnic football team when both clash in the friendly match.
The match which was watched by hundreds of students and staff management saw both teams displayed football artistry.
Although host team gave good account of themselves as they outplayed Team Lagos in the first half. Several scoring chances were missed by both teams to end the pulsating encounter barren draw at the half time.
The second half was more interesting as Team Lagos increased their tempo. Their effort was rewarded when Issa Saheed opened the scoring in the 48minutes to silence the home fans.
The goal scored by Team Lagos spurred LASPOTEC players to intensify their effort.
Their effort was rewarded when Femi Moses capitalised on defensive error of their opponents to draw the game in the 85mins.Their jubilation was short-lived when Hassan Akinkunmi fired a shot from the close range to confirm their superiority over the home team.
