The desire to acquire spiritual powers has landed a cleric, Pastor Otobong Emerson, of the Believers Ministry Church Incorporated in Benin, Edo State, in big trouble after he was allegedly caught and he finally confessed defiling four under aged girls who are members of the church.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the victims were three siblings of the same parents within the ages of 6, 7, 9 and another girl, 11.Following the discovery of the dastardly act, the Police from Edo Command arrested Pastor Emerson and he had already confessed that he actually defiled the victims in the church.
This was disclosed by the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP. Chidi Nwabazor, who said that Emerson was among the suspects paraded by the Command and he had confessed to the crime.
The 48-year old cleric, Emerson, while confessing to the crime, narrated that he had carnal knowledge of the minors several times and instilled fear into them not to tell their parents what happened. However, when it leaked, he had to confess to his General Overseer about his evil act, adding that a spirit possessed him to do so.
“After sleeping with them multiple times, my conscience started judging me, so I went to confess to my church G.O, that I don’t know what pushed me. I don’t really know what’s wrong with me these days, I really feel sober over my action” he said.
The Police spokesman, DSP Nwabazor, explained that Emerson committed the offence of defilement and will be charged to Court after the conclusion of investigation.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the alleged offence, which Pastor Emerson committed, attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
