The nomination of Hon. Jude Idimogu as the Apex Leader of Igbo in Lagos State APC may have turned a huge success following the mobilization drive being embarked on by the top members of the party to all the Local Government areas in the State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that one of the top Igbo monarchs, Eze Nwabueze Ohazuruike, National President of Ndi Eze Ndigbo in Diaspora, former President of Ohanaeze, Chief Uche John, have already promised Hon. Idimogu, the lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly at his palace in Lagos of their intention to join APC.
The entourage led by the Eze Ndigbo and Chairman of ethnic traditional rulers in Lagos State, Eze Christian C. Nwachukwu and other stakeholders including some Igbo sons and daughters attended the visit. The visibly excited traditional ruler, Eze Ohazuruike, who received Hon. Idimogu and his entourage, said that he was prepared to join APC which is the ruling party in the State and indeed Nigeria.
Ohazuruike, who is well known for his strong support for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, maintained that the time was ripe for him to join APC, having seen the exceptional leadership quality of Hon. Idimogu, who was made the Apex leader of Ndigbo in Lagos APC, following the exit of Engr. Joe Igbokwe.
Eze Nwachukwu disclosed that the stakeholders have since commenced work to visit all the Igbo residents in Lagos across the Local Government areas to sensitize and correct the mistakes of the past leadership over the years. He enjoined the Igbo in Lagos to have faith in the new leadership as ably led by Hon. Idimogu, who has started to remove the stigma that the Igbo are not supportive of the APC in Lagos State.

Nwachukwu explained that the perception was as a result of bad leadership and Igbo not being carried along to the grassroots level and that is what Hon. Idimogu has started to correct and Ndigbo in Lagos are happy over the development across the State.

Eze Nwachukwu regretted the misconception that Igbo is Anti APC and revealed that it was caused by the former leaders due to incompetence and communication gap.He noted that the APC has favoured the Igbo in Lagos by appointing Igbo man to a Federal position in the person of Pastor Ben. Akabueze and other important positions to give Igbo sense of belonging in the State.Nwachukwu said that the new leadership by Hon. Idimogu was determined to change and move to the grassroots to connect with Igbo people as was done by Pastor Akabueze before he moved to Abuja for higher positions courtesy of APC.
“Igbo did not do well in the last election because of the leadership which affected the voting of Igbo in the State during elections but the stakeholders looked into the remote causes and have corrected it by nominating Hon. Idimogu, who has started correcting the mistakes” Eze Nwachukwu stated.
