Posted on February 7, 2017

The police in Cross River State are to adopt community policing and dialogue to curb the menace of cultism in the state.

The new Police Commissioner in the state, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa made this known Monday while speaking with journalists on his arrival in Calabar , the state capital.

Inuwa said he will build on the successes of his predecessor which is to keep crimes and other forms of criminality at the lowest ebb.

He said he has told the Divisional Police Officers under his command to embrace the dialogue approach to stem crimes by interacting with stakeholders and community leaders, adding that cultism is not peculiar to Cross River alone.

He said policing needs the collaborative efforts of all to achieve a crime free society.

Inuwa who hails from Jigawa State, was deployed to Cross River from the Force Headquarters in Abuja where he was serving as the  Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector General of Police.
