COVID-19: Lagos State Sports Commission Doles Out Palliatives To Sports Writers Association

In order to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 lockdown on members of the Lagos Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), during the pandemic, the Lagos State Sports Commission on Friday distributed palliatives comprising of 5kg Rice, 5kg Beans, 1litre groundnut oil and hand sanitizers to 250 Members of the Sports Writers Association, (Lagos State Chapter).
The Lagos State Sports Commission’s gesture is to support the Sports Writers in Lagos State, being Stakeholders in Sports development in the State.
“What we are doing today is to support one of our very important stakeholders in our own little way during this pandemic. It’s small but we are very sure that it would go a long way to assist members of the Sports Writers Association during this time,” said Moses Kolawole, Director, Sports Development of Lagos State Sports Commission.
In his response during the presentation of the palliatives, Debo Osundun ,Chairman, Lagos State Sports Writers Association (SWAN), appreciated the kind and good gesture of the Management of the Lagos State Sports Commission for remembering our members at this time of COVID -19 pandemic, adding that Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission has always been there for Lagos SWAN.
He further stated that members of Lagos State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, will continue to support the Lagos State Sports Commission through publicity of its programmes, events and activities.
“We are very thankful to the management of Lagos State Sports Commission for recognizing our members during this period of the COVID -19 pandemic and we are very proud to be associated with the Lagos State Government,” Osundun said.
