Robber Arrested After Dispossessing Bank Customer Of Money At Gun Point

The Lagos State Police Command have arrested a suspected armed robber, George Onuh after he allegedly dispossessed a bank customer, simply identified as Bola, of her money at a gun point after she withdrew from a branch of GT Bank in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The 23-year old Onuh, in company of his gang member, dispossessed the victim who was carrying a large sum of money she just withdrew.
Bola, the victim raised alarm which attracted police operatives on patrol around the area, who trailed the suspects to the Nigerian Law School area where one of the suspects was apprehended and the cash recovered from him.

The other suspect fled with the motorcycle used for the operation.
The suspect was taken to the Victoria Island division where he is being interrogated.

According to the victim, she said she had gone to the bank’s branch on Adetokunbo Ademola Street to withdraw some cash, and while in the banking hall, she sighted the suspect but thought he was a customer.
She however was surprised when the same supposedly customer waylaid her, pointed a gun at her and disposed her of her money.
The Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, SP Dolapo Badmos confirmed the incident and said the police after recovering the money, subsequently handed it over to the victim.
She said the exhibit recovered from the suspect was one locally made pistol with six rounds of live ammunition.
Badmos said the Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni has directed that the suspect and exhibits be transferred to SARS Ikeja while effort is on to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
