The issue of Igbo Apex leader of the APC in Lagos State may have finally come to an end following the endorsement of Hon. Jude Idimogu by the Party Chieftain and member of Governor Advisory Council, GAC, Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku, popularly known as Baba Eto in the State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Baba Eto gave the endorsement during the courtesy visit by Hon. Idimogu with some leaders of the Igbo Community in Lagos State led by the Eze Ndigbo and Chairman of Igbo traditional rulers in the State, Eze Christian Uchechukwu Nwachukwu.

The elated Baba Eto did not only endorse Hon. Idimogu as the Apex leader, he also prayed for him as he embarked on the mission to bring the Igbo living in the State to the Governing Party in order to change the narrative and equally nominated a Women Leader, popularly known as Lolo Africa to Hon. Idimogu.

Eze Nwachukwu, while presenting Hon. Idimogu, said it was the collective decision of all the Igbo community leaders that nominated Idimogu to lead the Igbo in APC with clear mandate to put structures in all the Wards and Local Governments in the State in order to position the Party for 2023 and beyond.

He noted that the Igbo were misunderstood and seemed not to be supporting APC during the elections due to the challenge of leadership in the past where the Igbo were not contacted at the grassroots level in the State.

Nwachukwu stated that since Hon. Idimogu was nominated, he has been going to the grassroots mobilising the Igbo to join APC and the results have made more Igbo to embrace APC in the State.

He reiterated the commitment of Igbo community leaders to work with the Party leaders and the Lagos State Government to ensure that the policies of the Government get the support of the Igbo in the State.

Hon. Idimogu said that he had already accepted to lead the Igbo and have started implementing the mandate by going to the Wards and Local Governments to mobilise the Igbo to join the APC and support the governing Party.
He noted the need for the Igbo to support the Party and that will enable them to be stakeholders in the affairs of the State.

Baba Eto thanked the Igbo community leaders for taking the decision to get a leader, who will mobilize the Igbo to join the Party and support the Lagos State Government. He assured Hon. Idimogu of his support as he has been chosen by his people as the Igbo Apex leader and called for support by all the Igbo in the State.
