Relocation of Nkwo Produce Market Umunze: Hon. Okafor Engages Stakeholders

Posted on November 1, 2020

The Commissioner for Trade and Commerce in Anambra State, Chief Uche Okafor Wiper, is presenting meeting with the Traditional Ruler of Umunze, HRH. Igwe PN. Eze, Abilikete, the former Deputy Governor of the state, His Excellency, Chief Emeka Sibeudu and other select village leaders in the Igwe’s palace, Umunze, Headquarters of Orumba South Council Area.

The meeting is expected to resolve all issues militating against the full relocation of Nkwo produce market which is presently located around the roundabout.

The continued existence of the market in old Nkwo is dangerous to the lives of traders, customers and road users in general as it causes traffic gridlock while accidents occur occasionally.

Government has concluded plans to relocate the market to its permanent site which is being developed by Bills Ltd in partnership with the Anambra state government.
