Senator Ekwunife Congratulates Renowned Novelist, Chimamanda Adichie On Her Recent Women’s Prize For Fiction Award

Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) has congratulated renowned Novelist and mutiple award winning non-fiction writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie on the recent International Award of her widely read book, Half of a Yellow Sun.
Adichie’s book was voted the best book of the last 25 years since the establishment of the Women’s Prize for Fiction which it first won in 2007.
Extolling the Literary Icon, Senator Ekwunife noted that Adichie’s Half of a Yellow Sun perfectly describes the end of colonialism, ethnic allegiances, race and female empowerment. She lauds the Anambra born novelist for using her literary works and personal brand to promote gender parity and inclusiveness around the world.
The Federal Lawmaker and gender inclusiveness advocate, described Adichie, who hails from Abba in Anambra Central Senatorial District, as a worthy daughter of the Senatorial District, Anambra State and Nigeria at large, who has exalted the position of the nation in the eyes of the world through her world-class literary works.
Conclusively, the Senator wished Adichie, the Author of Purple Hibiscus and fellow of MacArthur Foundation, greater success in her continuous effort to enlighten lovers of literature through her short stories and non-fictions.
She prayed God to reward her accordingly and grant her the enablement to continue to do Anambra State and Nigeria proud.
