There was apprehension at the weekend when a team of Police from Force Headquarters in Abuja stormed the residence of the President of the Ladipo Market Auto Spare Parts in Mushin Lagos, Comrade Kingsley Ogunor, arrested him and flew him to  the federal capital city in Nigeria.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Ogunor was arrested with his personal assistant, Ifeanyi Nwagbo over an alleged threat to life and the murder of a trader in the market.

The latest arrest may have opened another chapter over the last year death of one of the traders, Anene Utazi during the demolition of Odo Aladura  section of the market by hired thugs.

It was not yet clear how Ogunor was involved with the death as the prime  suspect, one Monday Lawrence had been arrested and charged with murder at the Lagos State court.

When our correspondent visited the market on Monday, the arrest of Ogunor seemed to have caused panic as traders were in seen in groups discussing the development and expressed concern over their safety in the market.

Some said it was a ploy by Lawrence’s group which had been out of the market over Utazi’s death and wanted to intimidate the leadership of the market with police.

The demolition of Odo Aladura market triggered crises after hired thugs led by Monday Lawrence invaded the market to demolish it.

The thugs encountered resistance from the traders and in the process, Utazi was shot and he was rushed to LUTH where he eventually died.

There was protest and destruction of properties in the market until the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni went there and restored peace.

CP Owoseni ordered the arrest of Lawrence and his group who were then on the run over the murder.

Lawrence was trailed and later arrested and charged to court with murder where the Magistrate referred the matter to DPP for advice.

The DPP in their report stated that Lawrence had a case to answer and the matter was referred to the High Court on the basis of jurisdiction.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that it was Lawrence group that wrote petition against Ogunor to the Inspector General of Police which prompted his arrest and transferred to Abuja.
