Man, 39, Docked For Defiling 16-Year Old Daughter

A 39-year old man, Michael Odumba Segun, has landed in trouble in Lagos after he allegedly engaged his 16-year old biological daughter in sex and it got exposed.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Segun, was arrested for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.

The incident happened at Igbafefe Street, Olosha in Mushin area of Lagos.

It was gathered that Segun separated from the mother of the daughter who took her away from him.However, when Segun later located where the wife kept her, he reportedly engaged and defiled the daughter there.

The whole thing got exposed after the girl reportedly told her mother what happened and the matter was reported to the Police; Segun was then arrested by the Police for interrogation over the alleged offence.

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

The Court denied him bail following a motion by the Prosecutor, Supol Kehinde Ajayi, who urged the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Ajibade, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town. The prosecutor was then directed to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 11th January, 2021, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready.
The defendant may likely be transferred to the High Court for prosecution if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence.
