How Capacity Care Foundation Sponsored Competition Discovered 4 Talented Football Players

Following a successful official kick-off of Nwangele Youth Football Competition on Sunday , November 15, 2020; as organised by her State Representative, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, under the Capacity Care Foundation in conjunction with Heartland Football Club, Owerri, the football panorama, which lasted for more than one month and featured most prominently the 11 wards |teams in the area with Amaigbo Ward Four lifting the trophy after beating Abajah Ward One 3-0 in a penalty shoot-out;  having exhausted the full 90 minutes play time in a goalless draw
.

The most watched and well organized football competition in Nwangele LGA, which appeared more like Nigeria’s Premier League, had in attendance sports administrators, football analysts, sports writers, members of the technical crew of Heartland FC, Owerri, etc, as Nigeria’s ex-Super Eagles star player, Emmanuel Emenike, came in the company of his friends and other football enthusiasts.

However, since grassroots football development is at the center of the game of soccer, no doubt, young and gifted footballers are poised to change the narratives in football talent hunts, discovering and grooming  for national outing and possible  international exports.

Dispassionately assessing all the players after a highly impressive  performance in the field all  through the competition, four talented players were discovered at the grand finale of the competition as Heartland Football Club General Manager, Mr. Ifeanyi Chukwudi, gave them invitation to Owerri for training and possible absorption into the team after their screening.

Capacity Care Foundation is not relenting in its efforts to change the narratives as it concerns the development of football at the grassrots for productive engagement and National integration.

The all engaging Capacity Care Foundation football competition’s  grand finale had in attendance creme da la creme of Nwangele leadership and billionaire friends of the egghead State Legislator gracing the occasion.

The Special Guest of Honour, a business Maverick and oil magnet, the CEO of Fradril Oil Services Ltd, High Chief Michael Onuoha (Eririego of Igboland, Ikoro Isu, Lord Earl), performed the high point of the event as he officially handed over the trophy to the indefatigable Amaigbo Ward 4 team that defeated Abajah Ward 1 on a 3-0 penalty shoot out.

The Organizing Committee led by former Nigerian International player, Nicolas Ukadike, said the players; Nwaneri Chibueze, Chinemerem Ibeawuchi, Ikechukuwu Amadi and Emmanuel Enyiemna, were picked based on their performance at the Championship.Speaking after the grand finale, CEO of high flying online media 4thestatereporters.com, Mr. MacDonald Njoku, who led other media organizations to cover the Championship told newsmen that he was excited at the level of organization of the tournament, which was ranked as the best organized in the area in recent years.

Meanwhile, the Imo State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, who sees football as a powerful unifying factor among the youths, also promised to keep supporting the development of the game of football at the grassrots in line with the Shared Prosperity Mantra of Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The Honourable Lawmaker, while speaking during a brief telephone interview, posited that grassroots sports programmes are vital to engaging and retaining men and women in the sports sector of Nigeria’s economy as players, coaches, referees, administrators and even analysts depending on one’s area of interest and strength are discovered, groomed and birthed in the process.

He however, used the opportunity the medium created to thank the leaders of the area, invited guests, members of Heartland Football Club, Owerri, as well as the youths for their show of support, love and solidarity while promising an improved second edition with a higher stake.
