Senator Ekwunife Mourns Brother-In-law, Pastor Emmanuel Ekwunife

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife (Iyom), had on Friday, January 29, 2021, joined her husband, Chief Larry Ekwunife, PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the last elections, HE Peter Obi, friends, family and members of Greater Evangelism World Crusade, to mourn late Pastor Emmanuel Ekwunife.

Late Pastor Ekwunife, popularly known as Nwa Jesus, was a Pastor in Greater Evangelism World Crusade and died at the age of 72.

The burial service which held at his compound in Uruoji village, Nri, Anaocha LGA also had in attendance the President General of Nri Kingdom, Chief Dr. Kelvin Obiegbunam, Senator representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi, Member representing Nnewi North/South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency and PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu, Member representing Anaocha/Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, Member representing Aguata Federal Constituency, Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji, Member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chinedu Onwuaso, Speaker Anambra state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uchenna Okafor, Nigerian Ambassador to Burundi, Amb Elijah Onyeagba (Igba k Igba), Vice Chancellor Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Charles Esimone, Prof Stella Okunna (Nigerian first Professor of Mass Communication), heads of parastatals, and industrialists.

Delivering the sermon, the Officiating Minister, Pastor Regionald .C. Nwokeocha, South East Mission Coordinator, Greater Evangelism World Crusade preached on the need for Christians to live a Christ-like life. He reminded all to live a life of pursuing the lord and his kingdom.

While paying tribute, Ekwunife said that the deceased was a dependable counsel whose exemplary life of godliness, humility, patriotism and service to God and Mankind were living testimonies of his legacies. She noted that the late brother-in-law was a faithful and committed pastor who was never tired of prayer.

On his part, Chief Ekwunife described his late brother as an epitome of humility and love, saying that he lived and died as a true servant of God. He thanked everybody for the great support and prayed for the repose of the soul of his late brother.

Concluding, the Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology urged that all should adhere to the recommended Covid-19 safety measures by NCDC and other public health authorities. Covid-19 pandemic is real, Ekwunife stated.

Okpala, Chief Cosmos Agagbo (Okpokaji), Chief Felix Oli, Sir Jude Emecheta, Hon. Chido Obidiegwu, Hon. Emeka Igwe (Former PDP Aspirant Anambra State House of Assembly), Chief Sir Victor Ifeanyichukwu Nwankwo (Ofia Nawfia), many PDP stalwarts, some state zonal and LGA executives, village heads as well as other major stakeholders.
