Senator Ekwunife States That Education Will Be Accorded Special Place In Her Government

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, has reaffirmed that education is the panacea for social vices, saying that if elected, education which is an agent of transformation will be accorded a special place in her government.

Ekwunife, who was speaking to newsmen after tour of inspection of classrooms construction she attracted to Udoeke Primary school, Umudunnu village, Abagana, Njikoka LGA on Thursday, February 18, 2021, under the Anglican Diocese of Awka noted that she had a roadmap that would solve the problems facing education sector in the state. She said that the prosperity and growth of any state were factors of percentage of literacy rate.

Appreciating the Senator, the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Igboaka Nkechi, noted that both the management of the school and the host community were appreciative of Ekwunife for the legacy project. She commended the Senator for her contributions in education and prayed God to continue to bless and enrich her so she could do more for the constituency.

Speaking, Vicar of St. John Anglican Church, Abagana, Revd Canon Jason Onyeakagbusi who was represented by Amb Stanley Atuenyi said that they were full of surprise when the project commenced, according to him most times representatives tend to forget the education sector. Amb Atuenyi commended Ekwunife for her tangible representation and noted that she was sure that she would do very well if given the mandate to become the next governor of the state.

Ekwunife, who had in past few weeks inspected numerous projects, was also commended by PDP Abagana ward I executive notably the chairman, Nze Benjamin .C. Ilonze, Vice chairman, Mrs Mary Chukwujindu and the Youth leader, Mr Agbanaje Okechukwu.

Similarly, a pupil of the school, Master Chideberu Chinecherem, who spoke on behalf of the pupils, thanked Ekwunife for the ongoing project in their school. He said that the pupils were happy as well as their teachers and prayed God to give Ekwunife the grace to sustain the quality representation.

Earlier during the inspection, the Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology represented by delegation led by Lady Henrietta Agbata paid homage to the traditional ruler of Abagana, HRH Igwe Patrick Mbamalu Okeke.

Present were Chief Christian Maduka (Ogene 2 of Abagana), PDP Chairman Abagana ward 4, Obed Ikenokwalu, PDP Secretary ward I, Okpala Emeka, PDP Women leader ward I, Ngozi Ibekwe, PDP Youth leader ward I, Agbanaje Okechukwu, Emma Ezeokolo, Anambra Central Youth Coordinator SUECO, Anthony Chibueze amongst others.
