2 Ladies Arrested For Stealing Clothes & Phone At Super Market

Two ladies, Omowumi Shakariya and Yesirat Olaonipekun, escaped mob action in Lagos after they reportedly went to a super market, stole clothes and mobile phone and were caught in the process.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Otunba Ogba Road, Agege area of Lagos, where the store owned by one Arowolo Oyinkanshola is located.

It was gathered that the suspects went to the place and pretended to be customers who wanted to buy some items and were randomly pricing the items displayed at the store.
While they were pricing, they were at the same time stealing  items and when they wanted to escaped, they were apprehended.

According to a Police source, they were caught when the owner raised alarm which attracted other people around and they attempted to mete jungle justice on them.
However,  the Police from Area G Command, Ogba, Lagos, were contacted; they quickly got there, rescued and took them to the Command.

They were then detained at  Area G Command with the exhibits for interrogation and were found culpable during investigation by the Police.
Hence, they were charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and stealing of the clothes and the mobile phone worth N800,000.

They pleaded not guilty. 

The prosecutor, Mr. Clifford Ogu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. J. A. Adegun, granted them bail and ordered their remand in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
