Umeh Has Fully Transitioned Into A Bold Statesman

Posted on May 3, 2021

This was my conclusion as I listened to the outpouring of deep and emotive remarks of Distinguished Senator Victor Umeh yesterday.

His recognition of the limit of his individual capacity is indicative of a man who willfully subjects himself to authority, one who does not recline to the convenience of his convictions, but also strives to give it life within the ambit of authorities above him.

“I am not here to discuss body language, I’ve actually been too long in politics and should know better than taking definite steps because of body language. The Governor as the National Leader of our Party has taken his decision, which was clearly communicated to me directly by him. So, what I am doing here today is in keeping with my months of extensive deliberations with the Governor, our Leader. I am also certain that he means every bit of what he told me”.

Umeh didn’t mince words in affirming the locus of his informed decision to publicly align with the Governor’s wish, who is the Leader of the Party.

People who operate at the periphery of power and do not understand the dynamics of what is playing out have taken to snide remarks, an outcome Umeh himself foretold in his address yesterday. If Umeh has erred in working to actualize the wish of the Party’s Leader, it is obviously an error consequent only on the Leader, not on anyone with an assumed sense of relevance.
