Asiwaju Volunteers Unveiled In Lagos, Ready To Mobilise Nigerians For Tinubu’s 2023 Ambition

With the motto “Solution 2023”, a consortium of groups was birthed in Lagos, southwest Nigeria on Thursday with the mandate of working to pressure National Leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to signify his intention to contest for the post of president of Nigeria in 2023 and work for the actualization of the ambition.
Home Touch Centre, Obanikoro, Lagos was a beehive of activities during the launch of Asiwaju Volunteers, an umbrella body for all volunteers and civil groups for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s presidential ambition and supporting the mainstream campaign structure.
The Director General of Asiwaju Volunteers, Hon. Abiodun Ogidan said at the event that members of the group cut across all the six geopolitical zones of the country and have been operating with no financial support or demands from Tinubu.
According to him, the group consists of professionals in politics with the ambition to support Tinubu who they see as a leader who has the prerequisites to lead Nigeria to the next level.
Ogidan, a graduate of Engineering Physics/Applied Physic at Kingston University, London said: “We are a group supporting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2023 ambition. We are a group coordinating all other groups. Everybody is a volunteer. We are on ground in all the states of the federation. We are encouraging other groups to register with us because our plan is to have a database so that we won’t have groups scatter around working for the same purpose.
“Our aim is to build an army for Asiwaju. Tinubu is a leader who has the potentials to lead Nigeria, a leader who can move Nigeria forward. He is a round peg in a round hole.
“It is the practice all over the world to have volunteer groups mobilizing for a particular candidate.
“We are professionals in politics. We have not met Asiwaju for him to give us financial support. Our supports come from people who share same vision with us, donation from friends and spirited Nigerians. We have received endorsements from across Nigeria.”

These endorsements, P.M. EXPRESS gathered, have been coming in from all the geo-political zones of the country. Personalities who include four serving Governors who has been given Special Patrons status, people in business, politics and others areas of human endeavours.
Recently formed South-West Agenda for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, SWAGA 2023 has also endorsed the volunteers group and they were ably represented by the secretary general of the association, Hon. Bosun Oladele who brought goodwill message from SWAGA, adding that the group commended the courage of Volunteers for Asiwaju for coming out to identify with the vision and ambition of the former Governor of Lagos.
“We noticed that there are a lot of groups for this same cause but they are mainly on the social media. I am to see that the Volunteers for Asiwaju is solidly on ground.
“I want to tell you that though the campaign is not yet started, we should be working more on sensitization and mobilization of Nigerians ahead of the time as we urge our principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu himself to come out publicly to declare his intention for the president. We want the gospel to get to the unknown,” Hon Oladele, a former House of Representatives member said.
Chairperson of Unique Ladies for Jagaban, Nollywood actress, Ms. Bukky Ogunnote, a television presenter said she looks around to see who the cap fits, “but I could only see our leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who has affected a lot of people home and abroad. He is a visionary leader and we can only appreciate his good work by support him to become the president of Nigeria.
“I am so happy being part of the enlarge group, Asiwaju Volunteers Solution 2023. We see a good cause here and we believe strong in the man Tinubu. This is a good initiative to coordinate every other groups working for Tinubu’s presidential ambition. We are all waiting for him to declare his intention to contest. Asiwaju is a Pan Nigerian and the solution we need to unite this country.”
P.M. EXPRESS reports that the Asiwaju Volunteers is currently have more than 400 groups registered under it. Tuesday’s launch in Lagos was a low key because of the need to maintain COVID-19 health protocols. Hon. Ogidan informed that few of the groups executives were mobilized to attend the event.
Some of the groups include Fajo Group, Frontrunners, Integrity, Arewa Community APC, Lagos, Egbe Omolere Social Club, Alimsho Asiwaju Volunteers, Asiwaju Alliance Movement, The Patriots, The Adorable, Ideal Political Movement, The Dynamic, The Group Progressive Unique Ladies for Jagaban among others.
