7 Suspected Cultists Arrested With Charms During Meeting In Hotel

Police operatives attached to Morogbo Division of the Lagos State Command on Sunday, 13th June, 2021, at about 10am, arrested seven suspected cultists while they were having meeting in a hotel.


P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Police also recovered assorted charms, arms and ammunition as exhibits during the raid.

Their arrest followed a tip off from the management of House 2 Hotel, Igbekele Morogbo, Lagos State, that some boys suspected to be cultists were holding a meeting at the hotel.

The Police moved into action and arrested seven suspected cultists while others were said to have escaped and now at large.

The suspects were Hameed Salami, 35, Ogunlade Adewale, 30, Sunday Ogbemudia, 36, Okekunle Segun, 26, Imole Kingsley, 23, Rasak Lekan, 26 and Osuya Innocent, 23.

Items recovered from them included one locally made pistol, two live cartridges, one axe, assorted charms.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the case be transferred to the Command’s Special Squad, Ikeja, for discreet investigation.

CP Hakeem Odumosu however, reiterated the Command’s commitment to continually tackle cultism and all sorts of crimes and criminality in Lagos State as all hands are on deck to improve on the already established security architecture of the state.
