Lagos At 50: Alade Market Holds Special Trade Fair

In line with various activities to mark the Golden jubilee celebration of Lagos State, the Alade Market Women and Men Association with the support of Ikeja Local Government is hosting a special 10-day Trade Fair in the market.
The fair which started on Wednesday 12 April will run till Saturday 22 April at the New Alade Market, along Awolowo Way, Ikeja.
Chief (Mrs) Elizabeth Aina Adenuga, the Iyaloja of Alade Market, in a statement said the idea is to provide Lagosians with discounted shopping opportunities for the Easter season as well as highlight the great business potentials as the State of Excellence marks 50 years of existence.
The Iyaloja added that the fair will also afford the public the opportunity to see the new look Alade market which she described as a ‘heaven’ among other markets in Lagos.
“People need to come to the new Alade market to have a great shopping experience. Aside the availability of assorted quality products, shoppers will have options as well as the price competitiveness,” Iyaloja stated.
She noted that the ambiance and large car park at the market will add to the visitors delight.
Chief (Mrs) Adenuga added that the trade fair is their own little way to promote and support the Lagos at 50 celebrations.
The new Alade market which is located about 150 metres away from the old one, off Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja seats on 2.5 hectares of land.
The market which has been described as one of the most modern of all markets so far in Lagos has 504 lock up shops, 200 units of open stalls, 20 toilets, 350kva and 150kva generators, crèche, 3 boreholes as well as an ample car park that can take up to 350 cars at a time among others.
